The Hazard Tree

All trees are hazardous.

To some degree.

They can get big, they can get heavy and they can fall down and land on stuff. Your stuff.

But

There is a "But" to this conversation;  But no one is going to suggest that we remove all trees.

The Story of the Tree Risk Assessor-- Morris The Arborist

Well OK not the whole story, just a snippet....

Morris the arborist spent his entire career in the trees. Whether cutting them down and dissecting them; or pruning them up and growing them. It was a career spent dealing with peoples challenges and solving their problems with trees.

Morris was a climber up until his last day before retirement at 65 years old.

A climbing arborist, especially one as experienced as Morris, knows a thing or two about risk. Climbing trees and performing surgery on their parts is risky business.

Risk for the climber is very real. But there are other things to worry about up there; like for instance who or what might get smashed by the falling piece of log.

Morris knew the limits because he understood the risk. He was the best tree risk assessor around.

Every time an arborist looks up a trunk he is assessing risk.
Is this thing going to fail?
          What will it hit?
                    How big is it?
                             How can we mitigate this?
What is the safest and most efficient way to solve this problem?

Arborists, especially those trained and experienced as Tree Risk Assessors, see trees differently than the rest of us.

Make sure that the tree guy you use is a qualified Tree Risk Assessor. Because when you're dealing with trees sometimes the worst case scenario does happen.
